Browns take on Chiefs in Week 8 contest

Cleveland BrownsKansas City Chiefs

The last undefeated team in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs are growing favorites over the struggling Cleveland Browns.

The Chiefs opened as 6.5-point favorites, but that line had grown to as high as minus-8 early in the week.

The Browns hammered the Chiefs, 30-7, last season, sending Kansas City to a 2-14 mark, the worst in the NFL. But things have changed dramatically in Kansas City, with new coach Any Reid off to a hot start.

The Browns are headed in the opposite direction. Things looked promising in Cleveland, before quarterback Brian Hoyer was lost for the season. QB Brandon Weeden has been extremely inconsistent in place of Hoyer.

The Chiefs are just 5-16-1 against the spread as home favorites since 2007. But the Browns are just 2-6 ATS in their past eight as a road underdog. Of note, there are solid UNDER trends in play this week.

The UNDER is 8-1-1 the past 10 Kansas City home games and even stronger (11-2-1 past 14) when they are home favorites.

The Chiefs sit at 7-0 (5-2 ATS) on the season; in comparison, the Browns are currently 3-4 (3-4 ATS). Looking to wager on the totals? Kansas City is 1-6 OU, and Cleveland is 3-4 OU.
