Browns vs Commanders Odds & Picks Week 5: Browns to slow down Jayden

The Cleveland Browns visit the Washington Commanders as +3.5 point underdogs Sunday in a game with a 44.5 point total. The Browns are 1-3, but could have won each of their last two games with a little luck.

The Commanders are 3-1 and riding the Jayden Daniels hype train. The rookie QB has completed 82.1% of passes for for 897 pass yards and 3 TD with 1 INT. He's also tallied 218 yards and 4 TD on the ground.

Browns vs Commanders Picks Week 5

Commanders TT U23.5 (+105)

Because the Commanders offense, specifically Jayden Daniels, is plastered all over sports talk shows and podcasts, it'd be easy to put in a bet on the Commanders here, but I did just the opposite.

The Browns defense represents a major step up in class for this Commanders offense which has faced the Bucs, Giants, Bengals, and Cardinals. The Commanders only went over the 23.5 team total in two of those games (Bengals & Arizona) and considering the Bengals were without both of their starting interior DL, they legitimately were two of the worst defenses in the entire league.

This Browns defense isn't what it was last year, but they haven't allowed more than 21 points the last three weeks. Denzel Ward should be able to neutralize Terry McLaurin and it's tough to see where the rest of the Commanders offense will come from.

Browns vs Commanders News

Both Browns starting tackles (Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills Jr.) once again missed last weeks game, so you'll want to keep an eye on Cleveland's practice participation throughout the week. The Browns backup tackles both played last week, but it's fair to wonder if they were 100% after both missed practice with injuries earlier in the week.
