Buffalo News & Notes

An excessively windy night in Buffalo on Monday produced less than ideal conditions for Josh Allen and the Bills offense to work in. Allen finished the game going 15-for-30 with 145 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions and led the running game with 39 rushing yards in a 14-10 loss to the New England Patriots. The Patriots rushed the ball 46 times in the upset win as Mac Jones threw only three passes for 19 yards.

Buffalo is now 3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS over its last seven games since Sportsbook the season with a 4-1 SU and ATS record. With an elite quarterback in Allen and an elite defense that ranks best in the NFL in yards allowed per game (272.3) and is second in points allowed per game (16.3), the Bills have the look of a legitimate Super Bowl contender on paper. They just haven’t played like one with consistency so far this season.

Tampa Bay News & Notes

Tom Brady completed 38 of his 51 pass attempts for 368 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Tampa Bay’s 30-17 road win over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Chris Godwin had 15 catches for 143 yards while Rob Gronkowski hauled in two touchdown receptions. The Buccaneers are now 3-0 SU and ATS over their last three games and have scored at least 30 points in each of those games.

At 44 years old, Brady could be on his way to the fourth NFL MVP award of his career. Brady leads the NFL in passing yards (3,771) and passing touchdowns (34) and has his team in the hunt for the top seed in the NFC. And this offense still has room to get even more dangerous when Antonio Brown returns from his suspension.

How Buffalo Will Cover

The Bills defense will have the chance to make a statement in this game. If Buffalo can contain one of the NFL’s best offenses on the road, the Bills could cover the spread or even score an upset to re-establish themselves as a serious Super Bowl contender.

How Tampa Bay Will Cover

Tampa Bay just needs to keep rolling. The offense has produced 31.8 points per game over the team’s last eight outings. In what figures to be a shootout, Tom Brady will be asked to outduel Josh Allen to lead the Buccaneers to a win and cover.
