MNF Betting: Texans vs Chargers

The Texans are 3-point road favorites at San Diego in second game of the Sportsbook Monday night doubleheader.

It’s only the third time since 2008 that the Chargers have been home underdogs.

Houston has consistently gotten off to good starts under coach Gary Kubiak. The Texans have gone 6-1 straight up and against the spread in September the past two seasons.

All-Pro running back Arian Foster has been banged up during the preseason, but is aiming to play in the opener.

The Chargers went 1-3 in the preseason, including a 41-6 blowout home loss to the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday. They also lost starting wide receiver Danario Alexander to a knee injury in the offseason.

Houston has struggled on Monday nights, going 0-5 ATS recently. But the Texans are 6-1 ATS in their past 7 September games overall. They also trend OVER the total early in the season (16-4 past 20 September games).
