Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Both of these teams looked awful in Week 1, but Denver did so more recently on Monday night, so action is coming in on the Bears. Chicago is up to -3 on the road while the total has dropped a point to 40.5.

Chicago News & Notes

Well, that certainly wasn’t the start to the 2019 season that the Chicago Bears had in mind. After hyping up their “new and improved” offense this offseason, the Bears managed to muster only 208 passing yards, 46 rushing yards and three points in a 10-3 loss at home to the Green Bay Packers. Chicago had been 9-1 SU and ATS in its previous 10 regular-season games.

On the bright side for the Bears, the team’s dominant defense picked up where it left off in 2018, keeping Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in check virtually all night. Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears offense aren’t going to be asked to do much this season with this defense clicking, but they’ll have to do better than this.

Denver News & Notes

Facing an Oakland Raiders team that was supposed to be “in shambles” after a week of drama surrounding Antonio Brown, it was the Broncos who were in shambles on Monday night. Denver fell down 14-0 in the first half before eventually losing 24-16 in a game that wasn’t as close as this final score would indicate.

With the loss, the Broncos fell to 0-5 SU and ATS over their last five games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games played in the month of September. Denver was a consistent Sportsbook under head coaches John Fox and Gary Kubiak with five winning seasons and five AFC West titles from 2011 through 2016. Since the start of the 2017 season, the Broncos are now 11-22 SU.

Betting Pick

Take the Bears -3. Both of these teams have a lot of work to do after duds last week, but the Bears have the better team on paper and an extra four days of rest and preparation heading into this one.
