I'm siding with the underdogs for my Chiefs vs Jaguars odds and picks for Preseason Week 1.
While it sounds like we're going to see a few snaps for Trevor Lawrence and the Jags' starters, I'm still backing the Chiefs to cover a 2.5-point spread as underdogs.
Here are my picks for the Chiefs vs Jaguars preseason Week 1 matchup:

Chiefs vs Jaguars Odds & Picks
Chiefs +2.5 (-110)
The Chiefs are 7-2 straight up across the last three preseasons. They also haven't lost a preseason game by more than two points in the last three years, meaning they're 9-0 covering this +1.5 spread.
Sure, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce don't play much of a factor in Kansas City's preseason success. But, the preseason success is the type of trend I just can't ignore. In comparison, the Jaguars are 4-6 straight up across the last three preseasons.
I think the Jags are slated as favorites in this one because Jacksonville coach Doug Pederson has said Trevor Lawrence and some of the starters will suit up this week. But, he's said they're only going to play 'a series or two' so I don't think there will be much of an impact — at least not enough to move the line this much. Plus, Reid has announced Mahomes is going to play a few snaps Week 1, as well — so that basically evens out.
Clearly Andy Reid is good at getting the most out of his squad in the preseason, so I'm riding with the trends and the Chiefs to cover +2.5.
