Falcons vs Dolphins Picks - Preseason Week 1

Miami finished 6-3 ATS at home last season so I'm rolling with the home dogs at +125 odds.

If Penix Jr. does suit up for Friday's game, the eyes of the football world will be on the former Washington quarterback. But, it's more likely than not head coach Raheem Morris only gives him a series or two to show off his stuff regardless, before handing the reigns to Taylor Heinicke and Nathan Rourke.

For the Dolphins, Mike White (7 regular season starts) will get the start, before making way for Skylar Thompson.

The Falcons have a bunch of young talent they'll be looking to integrate into a brand new system under head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. While the Dolphins are entering year three under Mike McDaniel. Personally, I think that gives the Fins the edge. Don't forget White once threw for 369 yards in a regular season game.

On top of that, the Dolphins are now absolutely loaded at running back, and their rushing game devastated even the greatest NFL defenses last year. Atlanta's front seven leaves a lot to be desired.
