With four losses in their last five games the Detroit Lions have given up the lead in the NFC North to the Chicago Bears.

In fact, Detroit, which has led the North most of this season, is suddenly on the verge of being eliminated from contention.

Coming off a tough loss at home Monday night the Lions will try to stay alive when they host the New York Giants Sunday at Ford Field.

Detroit took a lead over Baltimore Monday night with two minutes to go, but allowed the Ravens to drive just far enough for a game-winning 61-yard field goal in an 18-16 defeat. At 7-7 the Lions could be eliminated this weekend, if the cards fall wrong.

New York, meanwhile, continued its dismal season with a 23-0 shutout loss at home to Seattle Sunday. In the early betting desperate Detroit was favored by a touchdown over the G-Men at Sportsbook.

Supporters of the Giants have seen them go 5-9 and 5-9 ATS so far this season, while the Lions are at 7-7 and 6-8 ATS. In totals betting, the Lions are 8-6, while the Giants are 7-7.
