Packers vs Eagles Picks & Odds: Can Philadelphia Regain Its Dominant Form?

After boasting one of the league’s top offenses during an 8-0 start, the Philadelphia Eagles (9-1 SU, 5-5 ATS) have struggled to put up points in their last two games. Philly is favored by nearly a touchdown in Sunday night’s matchup with the Green Bay Packers (4-7, 4-7), who have covered seven of their last eight as an underdog.

Packers Have Lost Six Of Seven To Fall Out Of Playoff Contention In NFC

Green Bay’s playoff hopes are all but done following the Packers’ sixth loss in seven games last Thursday, a 27-17 defeat to Tennessee that dropped Green Bay to 3-7 on the season. The Pack have scored more than 22 points just once during the 1-6 slide and have been held under 300 total yards in three of their last six outings.

If there’s a bright spot on the Green Bay offense, it’s the emergence of rookie receiver Christian Watson as a red-zone target for Aaron Rodgers. Although Watson caught just four passes against Tennessee, two of them were for touchdowns, giving him five majors in his last two games after zero in his first six.

Hurts, Eagles Offense Slowing Down After Blistering Start To Season

After starting off the campaign with eight consecutive victories, Philly has hardly looked invincible the past couple of weeks. Coming off an upset loss at home to Washington, the Eagles needed to overcome a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter last week to edge the Colts 17-16 in Indianapolis, falling to 0-3 ATS in their last three games.

Some of Sunday’s offensive issues could be chalked up to the absence of tight end Dallas Goedert, who is likely out for the rest of the regular season with a shoulder injury. But quarterback Jalen Hurts has been held under 175 passing yards in each of his last two games and in three of his last five, while star receiver A.J. Brown has managed only 10 catches for 126 yards in his last three.

At least Philly’s run defense looks like it’s been bolstered by the recent acquisitions of Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh. The Eagles held Jonathan Taylor to just 35 rushing yards on 15 carries after Indy’s Sportsbook possession on Sunday, finishing the game allowing only 99 rushing yards after giving up more than 150 yards per game in their previous three.

Packers: Keys to Win

The Packers are often at their best when they’re counted out, going 7-1 ATS in their last eight as an underdog — including wins over Dallas and Tampa Bay this season. If the Pack are able to contain Philly’s run game and force Hurts to beat them through the air, they might be able to pull off the upset.

Eagles: Keys to Win

Philadelphia needs to bring more intensity and urgency, something that may have been lacking a bit following the Eagles’ 8-0 start to the season. A couple of early scores could break the spirit of a Green Bay squad that hasn’t had much go right over the past couple of months.
