Cincinnati Favored to Earn First Win of 2020 Against Jacksonville

The Cincinnati Bengals have been a profitable team to bet on in 2020 with a 2-0-1 ATS record through their first three games. Despite their ATS success to date, the Bengals are still looking for their first win of the season after starting 0-2-1 SU. Cincinnati will try to get that win at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Sportsbook spread of Cincinnati -3 and total of 48 points have both remained the same in the early stages of the week. The Jaguars defeated the Bengals 27-17 as 4.5-point road favorites last season. Jacksonville is 13-6 SU and 11-6-2 ATS in its last 19 games against the Bengals.

Jacksonville News & Notes

The Jaguars pulled off an impressive 27-20 upset win as 7-point underdogs against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 and followed that up with a competitive effort in a 33-30 loss as 7-point underdogs facing the Tennessee Titans. But when slated as 2.5-point favorites on Thursday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins, the Jaguars laid an egg in an ugly 31-13 loss at home.

Even with the loss, Gardner Minshew continues to impress. His passer rating ranks 12th best in the NFL at 101.3 and his completion rate is fifth at 73.8 percent. Minshew’s statistics through the first three games of 2020 are even more impressive when you consider the lack of talent he has around him to work with.

Cincinnati News & Notes

Joe Burrow’s NFL career is off to a solid start as well. The NFL’s first overall pick is averaging 273.7 passing yards per game with five touchdowns and only one interception through Cincinnati’s first three games.

The Bengals have been competitive in all three of those games, settling for a 23-23 tie against the Eagles on Sunday. Burrow outplayed Carson Wentz with two touchdowns, no interceptions and 312 passing yards.

Cincinnati was a betting favorite three times in 2019 and went 0-3 SU and ATS in those three games. Sunday’s contest will be Burrow’s first as a favorite in the NFL, with the Bengals compiling a 2-0-1 record as an underdog so far this season. The Bengals are just 2-17-1 SU in their last 20 games overall.

Betting Pick: Cincinnati -3

The Bengals came close to getting their first win of the season last week but were unable to get the job done. At home against the Jaguars, Burrow and company should be able to make their way into the win column.
