Jaguars vs Eagles Betting Preview

Jaguars vs Eagles Sportsbook Odds

The Eagles opened as -7 favorites but oddsmakers have since moved this line inside the key number, with Philly sitting at -6.5 early in the week. The Eagles’ dominant performance at Washington is taking a back seat to what the Jaguars did out west. With two trendy teams on the marquee, it will be interesting to see if this moves off 6.5 as we head into the latter stages of the week.

Can Jaguars Carry Momentum From Los Angeles To Philadelphia And Improve To 3-1?

After a dreadful 2021 season, the Jaguars have won two of their first three games on the arm of QB Trevor Lawrence. Coming off a 38-10 road win in Los Angeles, the Jags will attempt to keep it going as new head coach Doug Pederson faces his old team.

Lawrence was terrific in Hollywood, completing 28 of 39 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns and – most importantly – zero turnovers. A two-headed monster appeared in the backfield as James Robinson broke the century mark on the ground and Travis Etienne added 45 yards of his own.

After signing a hefty contract, Christian Kirk has been a revelation. With six catches for 72 yards and a score against the Bolts, he continues to be Lawrence’s favorite target in the passing attack. The offense has looked sharp, but the Eagles defense is a completely different animal as it showed in a blowout victory in Washington.

Eagles Try To Remain Unbeaten In What Should Be Highly Contested Home Game

Philadelphia joins Miami as the only remaining undefeated teams in the NFL after impressive victories over the Lions, Vikings and Commanders. Led by signal-caller Jalen Hurts, the Eagles rolled over division rival Washington last week to the tune of 24-8. Hurts continued to impress, going 22-for-35 through the air for 340 yards and three touchdowns.

The QB added 20 yards on the ground while running back Miles Sanders had 15 carries for 46 yards. It is a welcomed sight for Eagles fans to see Sanders getting more involved, but the clear stars of the show are wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, who combined for 13 catches on 22 targets and over 250 yards and two touchdowns.

While the offense is the shiny new toy, the defense has remained stout as well, holding the Commanders and Vikings to eight and seven points respectively. Tasked with stopping an up-and-coming Jaguars offense, the defense will play a key role in the Week 4 matchup.

Jaguars: Keys To Victory

The Jaguars need to establish the run and keep the Eagles offense off the field. It is encouraging to see the inclusion of James Robinson and Travis Etienne and more of the same will be needed to silence the rowdy Philadelphia crowd. While last week’s contest in Los Angeles was wide open, the Jags should turn this game into a slugfest to slow it down and keep it close till the end.

Eagles: Keys To Victory

The Eagles need to get the ball into the hands of DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown early and often. That strategy was successful in Washington and should give way to Miles Sanders and Jalen Hurts playing games with the stout Jaguars defensive front that features No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker. Employing run-pass-option mechanisms should allow the Eagles offense to maintain its torrid pace.
