While college football has been an adrenalin rush of joy for me lately (26-9 last four weeks), the NFL has been the bane of my existence. I’m 1-9 against the number with my last 10 Sportsbook Super Contest picks.
Time to get back on the winning track. Here’s who I like this week:
BEARS at COLTS -4.5, 47.5
Teams that are favored after a London game are just 4-7 against the spread. The Colts defense is also such a mess they made some cuts this week. Andrew Luck cited a lack of professionalism. They shouldn't be laying this many against anyone right now.
Titans at Dolphins -3.5, 45
The Dolphins offense has been ugly. But I think a huge reason for that has been the absense of Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey. Pouncey is expected to return this week and I'm expecting a much better O-line and offense from the Fish.
Texans at Vikings -6.5, 40.5
This may be the square play of the week but I still think the Vikings are undervalued even after starting the season 4-0 straight up and against the spread. The Vikes D might be the best in the league that has helped this team to a league-best +10 turnover differential. And now they might have a quarterback. Think the Texans are in for a long day.
Jets at STEELERS -7.5, 48
Turnovers have just mangled this Jets team. Worst in the league at -11 in turnover margin. If they can take care of the football, I think this is way too many points. And I'm going to look silly if the turnover massacre continues.
Giants at Packers -7.5, 48
Don't like that the Packers are coming off a bye but the Giants have the fourth-best passing attack in the NFL and the Pack have the fourth-worst pass defense. Think that's enough to cover the number.
Bills at Rams pick, 40
I watched the Bills last week in Foxborough and it was not pretty. If you’re taking the Bills here based on last week, I’d advise against it. That was all about the Pats being terrible, not Buffalo being great. Now they’re going cross-country to play the Rams.
