The Seattle Seahawks (6-4 SU, 6-4 ATS) will be hosting an opponent for the first time since October 30 as they welcome the Las Vegas Raiders (3-7, 4-6) to town on Sunday as small home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. The Seahawks are coming off their bye week after trips to London to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arizona to battle the Cardinals since their last home game against the New York Giants.

Raiders vs Seahawks Betting Preview

Raiders vs Seahawks Opening Odds

The point spread is up slightly to -3.5 in favor of host Seattle in early betting action, as visiting Las Vegas has yet to win consecutive games this season. The beleaguered Raiders ended a three-game losing streak last Sunday in overtime with a 22-16 upset of the Denver Broncos as 2.5-point underdogs, winning for the first time on the road this year as well after going 0-5 in their first five games away from home.

This will be a much more difficult challenge for the visitors, though, as the teams are still heading in opposite directions, with the Seahawks fighting for the playoffs and the Raiders playing spoilers. The passing games will be fun to watch regardless, as the total is also up slightly to 48.

Adams Burns Young Cornerback for Game-Winning Touchdown

There is something to be said about veteran players who enjoy teaching youngsters valuable lessons on the field. Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams definitely fits into that category after getting wide open for the game-winning score in last week’s victory at Denver. Second-year cornerback Patrick Surtain II was the victim for the Broncos, who simply could not contain Adams (seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns).

The former All-Pro has certainly had his struggles in Sin City, but he has found some serious chemistry with former college teammate Derek Carr lately, totaling 26 receptions for 413 yards and five touchdowns in the last three games. Adams may be covered by Seattle rookie corner Tariq Woolen, giving him another chance to school a young player.

Smith’s Comeback Player of the Year Bid On the Line in Big Game

The pressure is starting to mount for the Seahawks, who were one of the surprisingly good stories during the first half of the season. Seattle head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith were an unlikely pair going into the year, but the former believed enough in the latter to hand him the reins of the offense and let him run with it as far as he could take it.

Before losing to Tampa Bay in London, Smith and his teammates had reeled off four straight wins, putting them in sole possession of first place in the NFC West. But they still have a solid chance to stay in the race for the division title with a fairly easy slate of games ahead of them, including this one. Smith should be able to take advantage of one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL that is surrendering 247.6 yards per game.

Raiders: Keys To Victory

The Carr-to-Adams connection has been on fire recently and needs to continue burning if Las Vegas is going to find a way to pull off another road upset. Adams has been targeted a remarkable 44 times in the last three games, and Carr must continue to feed him the ball in order to keep the offense rolling with Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller still on IR.

Seahawks: Keys To Victory

The Raiders faced a foe last week without a legitimate passing attack – or offense, for that matter – and that will not be the case here. Seattle (25.7 points per game) is a top-five scoring offense even after losing 21-16 to Tampa Bay in London. The Seahawks boast two nearly equally producing receivers too in Tyler Lockett (54 catches for 640 yards and five touchdowns) and DK Metcalf (48 for 581 and four), so Smith has at least a couple different quality options to choose from in the passing game. That could be the difference.
