Line Moves: NFL Week 9

Just about every game on the board this week saw a slight line movement of about a half a point, but only five games had a line movement of a full point or more. Two of those movements were in favor of the underdog, and two were in favor of the favorite.

Here’s a look at the matchups with the biggest line movements in Week 9.

Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders (from -7.0 to -9.0 at 5Dimes)

Due to how terribly Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos played in their home loss to Detroit last week, early bettors were quick to jump on Oakland as a big favorite at home this Sunday. Oakland is 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four games against the Broncos, but Darren McFadden’s foot injury does provide cause for concern.

St. Louis Rams @ Arizona Cardinals (from -3.5 to -2.0 at TopBet)

After beating the New Orleans Saints last week, bettors seem to be willing to take a chance on the St. Louis Rams again. It also doesn’t help Arizona’s chances that Kevin Kolb is considered doubtful, and John Skelton will likely start in his place. Arizona is 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine games against the Rams.

Atlanta Falcons @ Indianapolis Colts (from +8.0 to +7.0 at BetOnline)

Will this be the week that Indianapolis gets their first win of the season? It’s a longshot, but early bettors at least seemed to think the Colts had a shot at covering. They’ve been on the road for the last three games; in their last two home games, Indianapolis lost by only four to Kansas City and by three to Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints (from -7.5 to -8.5 at Bovada)

Coming off of a road loss to Tampa Bay, New Orleans came home and beat Indianapolis 62-7. Now coming off of a road loss to St. Louis, will the Saints bounce back in a big way again? The Saints are 3-0 SU and ATS at home this season.

Many games on the board had line movements of a half-point, but the only other game that moved a full point was San Francisco @ Washington (from +4.5 to +3.5 at 5Dimes).
