Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Ravens are 3-point home favorites in this matchup between two of the AFC’s top teams. The total opened at 47.5 on the early line but has since moved all the way up to 52 points with heavy action coming in on the OVER. Los Angeles is 4-2 ATS in its last six games against the Ravens.

Los Angeles News & Notes

Justin Herbert went 26-for-43 with 398 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Los Angeles’s 47-42 win over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Mike Williams was targeted 16 times and caught eight passes for 165 yards and two scores in the win. Williams now leads the NFL in receiving touchdowns with six and ranks fifth in receiving yards with 471.

This Chargers team is showing week in and week out that it can win in multiple ways. Los Angeles’s defense has been excellent this season, but in a game when the unit wasn’t at its best, the offense picked up the load. With the struggles of the Kansas City Chiefs and the turmoil around the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles has emerged as the new favorite to win the AFC West.

Baltimore News & Notes

Baltimore’s streak of games with at least 100 rushing yards came to an end on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts as the team rushed for only 86 yards. Falling into an early 22-3 hole forced the Ravens to abandon the running game in favor of the passing game, and Lamar Jackson was up to the task. Jackson went 37-for-43 for a career-high 442 passing yards and four scoring strikes, leading Baltimore to a 31-25 win on Monday night.

Jackson now has 1,519 passing yards on the season with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also rushed for 341 yards and two touchdowns through Baltimore’s first five games. Dating back to last season, the Ravens are now 10-2 SU and 8-4 ATS over their last 12 games.

Why Los Angeles Will Cover

The Chargers are 8-1 SU and ATS over their last nine games. Justin Herbert is good enough to shoot it out with anybody, and this Sunday he’ll be facing a Ravens defense that ranks 28th in the NFL in passing defense, allowing 296.4 passing yards per game. The Chargers could win this one outright and the points are a cherry on top.

Why Baltimore Will Cover

Los Angeles ranks dead last in the NFL in rushing defense, allowing 157.6 rushing yards per game. This unit just got torched for 230 rushing yards against the Browns. Imagine what Lamar Jackson and this rushing attack will do. If the defense helps out even a little, Baltimore’s offense would likely cruise to a win and cover.
