Los Angeles News & Notes

The Rams established themselves as a legitimate Super Bowl contender over the first half of the season with a 7-1 SU and 4-4 ATS start in which they averaged 30.6 points per game on offense.

That offense has suddenly hit a rut as Los Angeles has averaged only 13 points per game in back-to-back losses of 28-16 to the Tennessee Titans and 31-10 to the San Francisco 49ers.

Matthew Stafford has averaged 268.5 passing yards in those two losses with two touchdown passes and four interceptions after averaging 309.7 passing yards to go along with 22 touchdown passes and just four picks over the first eight games of 2021.

To make matters worse, the Rams lost wide receiver Robert Woods for the season to a torn ACL during practice prior to the 49ers game. Los Angeles is suddenly counting on Odell Beckham Jr. to give the team a legitimate second threat behind Cooper Kupp.

Green Bay News & Notes

Green Bay’s impressive 8-1 SU and 9-0 ATS run came to an end on Sunday as the Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 34-31 on the road. This was a rare misstep for a Packers defense that had allowed 22 points or less in each of the team’s previous seven games. Aaron Rodgers went 23-for-33 for 385 passing yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions, but the Packers still came up short.

AJ Dillon took over the starting running back duties on Sunday with Aaron Jones sidelined due to a knee injury. Dillon had 11 rushes for 53 yards and six catches for 44 yards in the loss. The second-year back will be in the starting role again this Sunday with Jones expected to miss at least a few weeks with his sprained MCL.

How Los Angeles Will Cover

Los Angeles had a bye week last weekend to get some rest, to acclimate Odell Beckham Jr. to the offense, and to prepare for Green Bay. If the Rams get back to playing how they were before their recent slump, they’ve got a great chance to beat the injury-riddled Packers.

How Green Bay Will Cover

Aaron Rodgers was back in MVP form in Sunday’s impressive performance against the Vikings. With Los Angeles struggling on offense, Rodgers could lead the Packers to a win and cover with another game similar to the one he just had.
