Opening Odds Analysis

The Rams opened as 3-point favorites in this matchup and have since been bet up to Los Angeles -4. The total has moved just slightly down to 47.5 points since opening at 48 points. The OVER is 5-0 in Los Angeles’s last five games against Indianapolis.

Los Angeles News & Notes

The Matthew Stafford era in Los Angeles started off on the right foot last Sunday as the Rams cruised to a 34-14 win at home over the Chicago Bears. Stafford went 20-for-26 with 321 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Cooper Kupp was the main beneficiary in Stafford’s debut with 10 targets for seven catches, 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Daily fantasy sports and prop players should keep an eye on running back Darrell Henderson Jr. in Sunday’s matchup. Henderson was expected to split carries with Sony Michel after Cam Akers went down for the year with an Achilles injury, but Michel only got one carry last Sunday. The 24-year-old Henderson carried the ball 16 times for 70 yards and a touchdown and should be in for the lion’s share of the work again when the Rams face the Colts.

Indianapolis News & Notes

Carson Wentz finished his Colts debut with 251 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. It wasn’t enough to lead Indianapolis to a win as the defense allowed 21 points in the first half in a 28-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Zach Pascal had four catches for 43 yards and both receiving touchdowns in the game.

Jonathan Taylor didn’t get much going on the ground with only 56 rushing yards on 17 carries, but he did catch six passes for 60 yards. Taylor had a total of 36 catches for 299 receiving yards in 2020; his fantasy value could skyrocket if he becomes a popular target for Wentz this season. If the first half of Sunday’s game against Seattle was any indication, the Colts could be playing from behind quite a bit this season.

Staff Betting Pick: Los Angeles -4

The Rams feel that they have a legitimate shot at winning the Super Bowl this season with Stafford under center. Los Angeles looked the part of a contender last week, and that roll likely continues Sunday in Indianapolis to extend the Colts’ losing streak as an underdog.
