Matthew Stafford Questionable With Another Concussion

Los Angeles fell to 0-4 SU and 0-3-1 ATS over its last four games with a 27-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. To make matters worse, Matthew Stafford left the game with a concussion in the third quarter, forcing third-string quarterback Bryce Perkins to take over behind center. Stafford missed Los Angeles’ previous game with a concussion and is questionable to return against Kansas City.

Considering how terribly this season is going, it might be in the Rams’ best interest to play it safe with their franchise quarterback. Los Angeles is 1-6 SU and 1-5-1 ATS over its last seven games, and it’s difficult to see a path back to contention this year. This has been an incredible fall from grace for the Rams, who won the Super Bowl last season and finished last year on a 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS run.

Kansas City Continues To Thrive Despite Injury Issues

With JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) and Mecole Hardman (abdominal) already sidelined, the Chiefs lost Kadarius Toney to a hamstring injury on Sunday night. Despite the heavily depleted wide receiver corps, Patrick Mahomes went 20-for-34 with 329 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions to lead Kansas City to a 30-27 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Travis Kelce had six catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

The Chiefs have compiled a 4-0 SU and 2-2 ATS record over their last four games and have taken over sole possession of first place in the AFC. Smith-Schuster and Toney are both listed as questionable to return on Sunday, though Toney’s history with hamstring injuries makes an immediate return seem unlikely.

Rams: Keys to Win

With or without Matthew Stafford, the Rams don’t have the tools on offense to keep up with an elite offense like Kansas City’s. Los Angeles will need to have an outstanding game on defense to make this a competitive game as a Rams vs Chiefs prediction on the road.

Chiefs: Keys to Win

As long as Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are healthy, the Chiefs offense looks like it will keep on ticking at a high level. And with Isiah Pacheco looking comfortable in the starting running back role, Kansas City just needs to keep things going on offense to cover this big spread as a Rams vs Chiefs pick.
