New-Look Rams Face Tough Task vs “America’s Team” in Week 4

The Los Angeles Rams were largely an afterthought in their first year in Tinseltown last season, but they’re starting to turn some heads and gain recognition across the league three weeks into the 2017 campaign. The Rams will look to keep up their sudden high-scoring ways against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

Sportsbook opened the Rams as 8.5-point road underdogs for the contest.

Shark Bites
  • The Rams are 3-13 SU in their last 16 games on the road in October.
  • The total has gone UNDER in five of the Rams’ last seven games against the Cowboys.
  • The Cowboys are 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight games in Week 4.

In a surprisingly exciting Thursday Night Football matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams hung on to win an absolute shootout 41-39 thanks to some strong performances on offense. Quarterback Jared Goff threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns while Todd Gurley ran for two scores and caught another to already surpass his combined touchdown total of 2016.

The NFL’s lowest-scoring team from a year ago, the Rams look like a completely different unit under first-year coach Sean McVay. The additions of Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods have also helped L.A. score 107 points through three games, the second-most in franchise history.

The Rams and Cowboys have a penchant of playing low-scoring games, meaning UNDER bettors will be tracking this matchup closely. In the last seven meetings between the squads, the UNDER is 5-2.

After getting hammered by the Denver Broncos in Week 2, “America’s Team” got back on track in a 28-17 triumph over the Arizona Cardinals in Monday Night Football. The Cowboys got off to a terrible start but found their legs halfway through the game to hang on for the win to improve to 2-1 and tie the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East.

The OVER tends to pay out when the Cowboys are labeled as home chalk. In Dallas’s last 11 as home favorites, the OVER is 8-3.
