Betting Preview: Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks

Vikings Visit Streaking Seahawks Off Bye Week as Co-Leaders in NFC North

The Minnesota Vikings (8-3) head to CenturyLink Field to meet the Seattle Seahawks (9-2) in a clash of two of the NFC’s top teams on Monday Night Football. The Vikings are coming off their bye week while the Seahawks stayed perfect on the road and won their fourth game in a row overall, knocking off the Philadelphia Eagles 17-9 as 2-point road favorites last Sunday.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

There has been very little line movement so far, as this is a massive game for both teams, who are essentially equal going into this matchup. Seattle has already lost two games at home while Minnesota has dropped three on the road, including two by five points or less in the first four weeks of the season. The question is, will the line drop to -2.5 or rise to -3.5 at Sportsbook?

Minnesota News & Notes

The Vikings have won two straight games and six of seven, pulling even with the Green Bay Packers in the race for the division title when the latter fell 37-8 to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.

Minnesota hosts Green Bay in a Week 16 matchup that could decide the NFC North, but this game at Seattle could also help determine who earns the top wild-card spot in the conference.

This will be a great test for Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, who has been much maligned for his inability to beat quality opponents. But Cousins has not thrown an interception in his last five games, since Week 6 against the Eagles.

Seattle News & Notes

The Seahawks once had one of the best home-field advantages in the NFL, yet they can prove that they still do in this key spot. Even though they have lost to both the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints at home, those remain their only two defeats to date.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has also been picked off in each of his last two games, but the team still found a way to win both of them thanks mostly to the defense.

Wilson is one of the MVP favorites despite those two recent interceptions, and his head-to-head showdown with Cousins will definitely help his case if he can perform well again on national television.

Betting Pick: Seahawks -150

This game could definitely come down to a field goal, so why not take the Seahawks simply to win? Grab this number early because like the point spread, it could go up closer to kickoff.
