The Miami Dolphins (5-7 SU, 6-5-1 ATS) are riding a four-game winning streak into their matchup with the New York Giants (4-7, 6-5) on Sunday and find themselves as small home favorites at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. The Dolphins routed the Carolina Panthers 33-10 last Sunday as 1.5-point home underdogs while the New York Giants also pulled off an upset in defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 13-7 as 4-point dogs to earn their third victory in a row at home.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
With the status of New York quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) up in the air, Miami is now up to a 5-point favorite after increasing slightly to -3 and -3.5 earlier on Tuesday.
The Giants have picked up three of their four wins at home this year, but the team did get a key road victory against the New Orleans Saints as 7-point underdogs back in Week 4. That said, they are just one game behind the Saints in the NFC standings following last week’s win, and the Dolphins still have work to do in a tough AFC East race. Even if these teams are building for the future, they are in a spot where they want to finish strong.

New York News & Notes
The New York defense came to play vs Philadelphia, totally frustrating Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and forcing him into three interceptions.
The Giants retired Hall of Famer Michael Strahan’s jersey last Sunday, and the defensive players may have fed off the festivities to turn in one of their best performances of the season. The unit is expected to get another boost this week with the return of safety Logan Ryan from the COVID-19 list after he missed the last two games due to a positive test.
Offensively, New York remains a work-in-progress despite the dismissal of former coordinator Jason Garrett prior to the most recent game, and the team could struggle more if Jones sits.
Miami News & Notes
If it was not for the resurgence of the New England Patriots and their current NFL-best six-game winning streak within the same division, more people would probably be talking about the Dolphins and their recent success.
It all started with a 17-9 win over the Houston Texans with quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center in Week 9, although most instead remember their upset of the Baltimore Ravens as 8.5-point home underdogs the following Thursday when Tua Tagovailoa took over and assume that was the beginning of the hot streak.
Regardless, this team is playing well on both sides of the ball right now, and their blowout of the Panthers shows that Brian Flores is still a pretty good head coach.
How New York Will Cover
The Giants have alternated wins and losses in their last six games, but they have covered the spread in four of their past five. The exception was in their last trip to Florida at the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miami is not Tampa Bay, though, and another strong defensive effort here could lead to another cover and upset.
How Miami Will Cover
Flores likely will not win Coach of the Year this season, but he should be commended for his efforts. He has gotten his players to play hard for him again, and making the switch back to Tua against Baltimore was brilliant. The confidence of the Dolphins is very high, and their belief in themselves has definitely helped them go on a 4-0 run both SU and ATS.
