New York Giants vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Since opening the season in a 1-7 SU hole, the New York Giants have taken over first place in the lowly NFC East with a 3-0 SU record over their last three games. The Giants will try to extend their winning streak to four games on Sunday when they visit the Seattle Seahawks.

Opening Odds Analysis

An injury to Daniel Jones has helped shift the line heavily in the Seahawks’ favor to Seattle -10 after the Seahawks opened as 7.5-point favorites. The total moved slightly down to 48 points since opening at 48.5 points. Seattle is 7-1 ATS in its last eight games against NFC East teams.

New York News & Notes

Daniel Jones owned an ugly 7-to-9 touchdown-to-interception ratio through the first half of the season as the Giants stumbled to a 1-7 SU and 5-3 ATS start. Jones hasn’t been a world-beater over New York’s recent three-game winning streak with only 223 passing yards per game and one passing touchdown, but he has protected the ball with zero interceptions and given his team a chance to win.

Now, Jones is out with what appears to be a serious hamstring injury. Colt McCoy went 6-for-10 for 31 yards in relief of Jones in last Sunday’s 19-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and will now be thrust into the starting quarterback role.

Wayne Gallman has scored a rushing touchdown in each of New York’s last five games and rushed for a career-high 94 yards on 24 carries against the Bengals. The Giants will need to lean heavily on him down the stretch with Jones and starting running back Saquon Barkley on the shelf.

Seattle News & Notes

Seattle backers were crushed by a backdoor cover in the closing moments of Monday night’s 23-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles as the Seahawks closed as 6.5-point favorites at home.

But despite the disappointing ATS result, Seattle did pick up its second straight win to improve to 8-3 SU on the season. The Seahawks are just 2-5 ATS over their last seven games since opening the season with a 4-0 ATS run.

DK Metcalf torched the Eagles for 10 catches and 177 receiving yards. The second-year wideout has already racked up 1,039 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns in 2020.

Metcalf enters this week’s action leading the league in receiving yards and has left a bunch of teams kicking themselves for letting him fall to the Seahawks at the 64th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Betting Pick: UNDER 48 points

Both of these teams have trended toward the UNDER lately. That isn’t likely to change with the Giants playing well on defense and sending Colt McCoy out on the field to run their offense.
