The San Diego Chargers were finally tagged with their first ATS loss of the season in Week 6, beating the Oakland Raiders by a score of 31-28 but not covering the 7.5-point spread on the road in the contest.
That put the Chargers at 5-1 both SU and ATS through the first six week of the NFL season, while the Raiders are 0-5 SU but 3-2 ATS.
Two other teams are now tied with the Chargers at an NFL-best 5-1 ATS heading into Week 7 of the season, with Philadelphia and Indianapolis both reaching that mark with Week 6 wins and covers. The Colts topped the Texans 33-28 as a 3-point favorite on Thursday Night Football, while the Eagles blanked the Giants 27-0 on Sunday Night Football.
The New York Jets remain the worst wager in the NFL at 0-5-1 ATS after losing 31-17 to the Broncos as 10-point favorites over the weekend. Peyton Manning and company are 4-1 SU on the season, and are climbing closer to the .500 mark for NFL bettors at 2-3 ATS heading into Week 7.
Tennessee topped Jacksonville 16-14 in Week 6 but couldn't cover the 4-point spread, which put the Titans at 1-4-1 ATS and the Jaguars at 1-5 ATS on the season. Jacksonville remains winless SU at 0-6. The Cleveland Browns improved to 3-1-1 ATS on the season with a convincing 31-10 win over the rival Steelers on the weekend in a pick'em matchup.
Cincinnati was favored by 7 points over Carolina in Week 6 but had to settle for a 37-37 tie and ATS loss, which has them at 3-1-1 SU and 3-2 ATS on the season. As well, Seattle lost outright 30-23 as a 9.5-point favorite against Dallas, while Atlanta lost outright 27-13 as a 3-point favorite against Chicago.
Baltimore easily covered a 3-point spread in a 48-17 win over Tampa Bay, with the Bucs now 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS on the season. Detroit beat Minnesota 17-3 as a 1-point underdog, while New England topped Buffalo 37-22 as a 1-point favorite, and Arizona beat Washington 30-20 as a 2.5-point favorite. Green Bay got past Miami 27-24 in a game in which their line fluctuated; if you got them at -3, you had to settle for a PUSH.
