The New England Patriots didn't take too kindly to being listed as home underdogs over the weekend, and they laid a beating on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos to highlight the betting results for Week 9 of the NFL season.
The Patriots were pegged as 3-point home underdogs against the Broncos for their Week 9 matchup, but they rolled to a 43-21 victory to improve to 7-2 SU and 5-4 ATS on the season. The Broncos are now 6-2 SU and 4-4 ATS this year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers also made a statement with an easy SU and ATS victory in a big game in Week 9, with Ben Roethlisberger having another huge game in a 43-23 Sunday Night Football victory over the rival Ravens in a pick'em contest. The Steelers are now 6-3 SU and 5-4 ATS, while the Ravens are 5-4 SU and 5-4 ATS in the tight AFC North.
New Orleans had no trouble covering a 3-point spread in a 28-10 win over Carolina in Week 9, while Philadelphia covered a 1-point spread in a 31-21 win over Houston, and Kansas City picked up an ATS win as a 10.5-point favorite in their 24-10 victory over the Jets. Miami was a 1-point favorite against San Diego and blanked the Chargers 37-0.
The Seahawks disappointed their backers in Week 9 by failing to cover a big 16.5-point spread in a 30-24 win over Oakland, while Cleveland couldn't cover 7 points in a 22-17 win over Tampa Bay, and Cincinnati was an ATS loser in a 33-23 win over Jacksonville for anyone that took them at -11.5 on the betting lines.
And the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers both lost SU as favorites in Week 9, with the Niners falling 13-10 to St. Louis as 11-point chalk, and the Cowboys falling 28-17 to Arizona as 1.5-point chalk with starting quarterback Tony Romo sitting out the contest.
