NFL Betting Board: Sunday Setup

With just over a month left to play in the regular season playoff races are heating up for some teams, while others must accept the role of spoiler. Regardless of where teams sit in the standings, NFL injuries and suspensions are a factor. Here are some player updates that will be key to this weekend’s NFL betting.

Adrian Peterson ruled out

If the Minnesota Vikings are going to stop the Denver Broncos and the Tim Tebow train, they’re going to have to do so without Adrian Peterson. Peterson injured his ankle two weeks ago in Minnesota’s game against Oakland, and this will be his second straight missed game. Denver is 5-1 SU and ATS since Tim Tebow has taken over at starter. The 2-9 SU Vikings are a 1-point favorite at home at 5Dimes.

Ndamukong Suh's appeal denied

Ndamukong Suh received a two-game suspension for his now infamous stomp in Detroit’s Thanksgiving matchup against Green Bay. Suh appealed the decision earlier this week, but the ruling was upheld, and Suh will miss the first of two games this week at New Orleans. Going up against Drew Brees and this dangerous passing attack, Suh’s presence on the defensive line will undoubtedly be missed. Detroit is a 9-point underdog at Bovada.

Rolando McClain arrested

Oakland has enough personnel issues with running back Darren McFadden and wide receivers Jacoby Ford and Denarius Moore expected to be out with injuries this Sunday, and now they’ll likely be without their second leading tackler in linebacker Rolando McClain. McClain was arrested in Alabama this week for allegedly being involved in an altercation and firing a gun. Oakland is a 3-point underdog at BetOnline on the road against Miami this week; the Dolphins are 3-2 SU and 5-0 ATS in their last five games.

Ahmad Bradshaw intends to play, Packers linebackers out

Ahmad Bradshaw is still officially considered doubtful to play Sunday at home against Green Bay, but he had limited activity in practice and told the media that he felt good and would be ready to play. In the end, Tom Coughlin has the final say, but Bradshaw would provide a huge offensive boost to a Giants team that has lost three straight both SU and ATS. Green Bay will be without linebackers Desmond Bishop and AJ Hawk, both out with calf injuries; Bishop leads the team in tackles. Green Bay is a 7-point road favorite at TopBet.
