The Houston Texans didn't come close to covering the spread against the New England Patriots on Monday night, but they still enter their Week 15 matchup as a big favorite on the NFL betting lines at home against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Texans were thumped 42-14 by the Patriots as a 5.5-point road underdog on the NFL odds on Monday Night Football, dropping them to 11-2 SU and 8-5 ATS on the season. The Colts, who sit at 9-4 both SU and ATS this year, opened as 9-point road underdogs against the Texans for Sunday afternoon at Sportsbook.
Houston and Indianapolis split their two meetings last season both 1-1 both SU and ATS; this will be their first matchup in 2012. Both of those 2011 results were UNDER results for totals bettors at the sportsbooks.
Tom Brady and the Patriots, meanwhile, opened as 7-point favorites at Sportsbook against the San Francisco 49ers for this week's Sunday Night Football contest. The Pats' victory on Monday night moved them to 10-3 SU and 8-4-1 ATS on the season, and they're the league's top OVER team at 10-3 on the totals through 13 games.
The Niners (9-3-1 SU, 8-5 ATS) are 0-3 both SU and ATS over their past three games against the Patriots, although the teams haven't met on the gridiron since the 2008 season. San Francisco covered the 10.5-point spread in their 27-13 win over Miami last week.
