NFL Conference Championship Round: Player Props

With just three NFL games left this season – not counting the Pro Bowl – your time to make money on football is quickly coming to an end. This is the best time of year for props and in line with that, various sportsbooks have released special player props for the conference championship round so you can warm up for the Super Bowl.

Bovada has a few interesting lines that I will break down for you individually heading into Championship Sunday.

The Best of the Elite

Four of the best quarterbacks in the league are all that remain in contention for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, proving yet again that you need a stud calling the signals if you want to have a chance to compete for the heavy hardware. The line Bovada has up for these guys is who will record the most passing yards in their conference championship game.

Aaron Rodgers is the favorite at +180 with Matt Ryan coming back at +200. The winner of this prop will more than likely come from the NFC Championship as the league’s No. 1 and No. 3 scoring offenses will be going up against two pretty weak defenses. If one team gets up early, there’s a strong chance the other will give up the run entirely and start airing the ball out.

Rodgers owns a career passer rating of 118.0 against the Falcons but has traditionally struggled in conference championships. If you think that trend continues, you may want to go with the value at the +300 price being offered for Big Ben Roethlisberger. The Patriots haven’t allowed a 90-yard rusher all season so the Steelers will likely have to rely on the long ball if they want to keep up with Tom Brady.

Conference Championships - Who will record the most Passing Yards

Odds as of January 18 at Bovada

  • Aaron Rodgers +180
  • Matt Ryan +200
  • Tom Brady +275
  • Ben Roethlisberger +300

Catch me if you can

Julio Jones is at the top of the list at +200 for the 'who will record the most receiving yards' prop but you may want to explore other options. Julio has topped 100 yards just one time in his last five games whereas a guy like Antonio Brown, who sits behind Jones at +250, has put up over 100 in both of the Steelers’ playoff games so far.

Your best value bet is with either Davante Adams or Randall Cobb as they’re both being offered at a line of +650. Adams has accumulated over 200 yards and 22 targets during the Packers’ playoff run and actually caught 12 balls the last time he went up against these Falcons.

Conference Championships - Who will record the most Receiving Yards

Odds as of January 18 at Bovada

  • Julio Jones +200
  • Antonio Brown +250
  • Julian Edelman +500
  • Davante Adams +650
  • Randall Cobb +650
  • Taylor Gabriel +1000
  • Chris Hogan +1200
  • Jared Cook +1200

It’s Le’Veon and the Rest

I think the Steelers have something special in Le’Veon Bell. He’s a transcendent talent and his 337 rushing yards this postseason only confirms that. Bovada is so confident that he’ll lead all rushers in yards gained on the ground this week they’ve given him a line of -300 to do so and offered the field at +200.

I alluded in my QB breakdown to the success the Pats have had at defending against the run this year. Although no team has proved they can stop Bell, the juice is too good to resist here. Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman and Ty Montgomery all have a chance to keep pace with Bell and if New England gets up on Pittsburgh early, expect a high dosage of LeGarrette Blount.

Conference Championships - Who will record the most Rushing Yards

Odds as of January 18 at Bovada

  • Le'Veon Bell -300
  • Any Other Player +200
