NFL Divisional Playoff Betting Trends

The divisional playoff round has not produced a whole lot of clear betting trends in recent years, other than an OVER trend the past two seasons.

But aside from that 7-1 OVER streak the past two seasons, there are a few team trends that point to a Bronco win over the Ravens, a packers win over the 49ers, a Seattle cover in Atlanta and a Texans cover against the Patriots.

Denver has won 11 straight games overall and are 12-0 SU as a favorite. In both streaks, their ATS numbers are impressive as well.

Combine those stats with the fact Baltimore is 0-16 SU since 1994 in the role of big underdog and you can understand why oddsmakers have the Broncos as 9.5-point favorites early in the week.

In San Francisco, the host 49ers face some ugly trends against Green Bay. The Packers are 6-0-1 ATS here since 1980 and they are 12-3-1 ATS in their past 16 games as an underdog.

Overall, San Francisco is on a money-losing 3-13-1 ATS run in 17 games against Green Bay.

Seattle continues to rake in profits as a road team and an underdog and both situations apply in Atlanta this week. Oddsmakers are giving the Seahawks plenty of respect here with a tiny point spread on the road.

Atlanta has won seven in a row against NFC West teams but have bumbled to a 3-7 ATS in 10 recent playoff games overall.

And the Houston Texans, 3-0 ATS in playoff games and 5-0 ATS in January, get 9.5 points at New England. They are riding a 6-1 ATS streak as an underdog and face a Patriots team that is just 1-6 ATS in the playoffs since 2008.
