NFL Injuries: Giants vs. Bills Lines

After an embarrassing loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks as a 9.5-point favorite last Sunday the New York Giants hope their injury misfortunes will take a turn for the better before this weekend’s game against Buffalo.

Defensive linemen Osi Umenyiora (knee) and Justin Tuck (groin) and running back Brandon Jacobs (knee) all missed practiced Wednesday, and are currently considered questionable for Sunday’s game. Umenyiora played through the injury last week, so assuming there are no more setbacks he may be the most likely of the three to be back in action. New York is a 3-point favorite over Buffalo at 5Dimes.

Just one week after losing Andre Johnson (hamstring) for a few weeks to injury (he’s considered doubtful Sunday), Houston got more bad news on the injury front as they lost star defensive end Mario Williams for the season with a pectoral injury. Houston acquired Derrick Mason in a trade this week to help fill in for Johnson. The Texans are a 7.5-point underdog at Baltimore this week at TopBet.

Another talented pass-rusher that could be out Sunday is Chicago’s Julius Peppers, who left Monday night’s game against Detroit with a knee injury and is currently considered questionable to return for Sunday’s game against Minnesota. The Bears are a 3-point favorite at home against the Vikings, who are coming off their first win of the season.

Indianapolis looked to be on the way to their first win of the season as well, getting out to a 17-0 lead over Kansas City, but they eventually lost 28-24. Worse yet, Joseph Addai (hamstring) was injured in the first quarter, and he’s considered doubtful for Sunday’s game at Cincinnati. Indianapolis is a 7-point underdog at Bovada against the up-and-coming Bengals.

Atlanta fell to 2-3 last week in a Sunday night loss to Green Bay, and will try to get back to .500 this week at home against Carolina. They’ll likely do so without rookie wideout Julio Jones, who is considered doubtful with a hamstring injury. Atlanta is a 4-point favorite this week at TopBet.
