NFL Injuries: MNF Question Marks

With only three weeks left in the regular season many of the divisional battles in the NFL have already been sorted out. However, plenty of teams are still playing for their playoff lives, or battling for positioning in the standings, and these NFL injuries take their toll.

Monday Night Football is currently shrouded in mystery due to injuries. Pittsburgh will be without linebacker James Harrison as he was suspended for a hit on Colt McCoy last week, and the statuses of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (hamstring) are hazy as both are currently considered questionable.

San Francisco’s defensive star, linebacker Patrick Willis, is also considered questionable with a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team's last game. Most books aren’t even offering a line on the game with so many key players currently in question, but BetOnline has San Francisco as a 2.5-point home favorite.

A pair of talented wide receivers will likely be out this week as Houston’s Andre Johnson is currently considered doubtful with the same hamstring injury that kept him out of last week’s contest against Cincinnati. Green Bay will also be without one of its most talented weapons as Greg Jennings is expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a knee injury he suffered in last week’s blowout win over Oakland. Both teams are still favored to win this week as Houston is a 6.5-point home favorite against Carolina and Green Bay is a 14.5-point road favorite at Kansas City, each at TopBet.

The Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns are both out of playoff contention at this point, and both may also be without their starting quarterbacks on the road this week due to head injuries. Colt McCoy is currently considered doubtful for Cleveland’s matchup at Arizona while Matt Moore is considered questionable for Miami’s game at Buffalo. Cleveland is a 6.5-point underdog and Miami is a 1.5-point favorite, each at BetOnline.

Both New York teams suffered key defensive injuries last week as Jets safety Jim Leonhard hit the IR with a knee injury and Giants defensive end Justin Tuck is considered doubtful for this Sunday with a toe injury. The Jets are 3-point underdog on the road at Philadelphia while the Giants are a 7-point favorite at home against Washington, both at Bovada.
