NFL Line Moves: Titans Meet Steelers

Hard to believe that a quarter of the NFL season is already in the books, but every team has now played four games and betting lines get sharper as cards get smaller due to bye weeks. Even with the smaller card, there are still plenty of lines that bettors and the house don’t agree on.

Here’s a look at four games that have seen big line movements in Week 5.

Tennessee Titans @ Pittsburgh Steelers (from -6.5 to -3.5 at TopBet)

Pittsburgh has been hit hard by injuries and looks out of sync on both sides of the ball. Tennessee has been one of the early season’s biggest surprises, off to a 3-1 SU start including a big win over Baltimore. Bettors were quick to take the points on Tennessee as Pittsburgh is just 1-3 ATS.

San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos (from +6.0 to +4.0 at Bovada)

San Diego is off to a 3-1 SU start, but they’ve been ugly wins as they are just 1-3 ATS. Despite the fact that Denver is just 1-3 SU and ATS and is coming off a 49-23 loss at Green Bay, early bettors felt they were a live dog at home.

Oakland Raiders @ Houston Texans (from -7.0 to -5.5 at 5Dimes)

Andre Johnson’s being ruled out for this game likely played a part in this line movement as early bettors were quick to take the points on Oakland. In the last six meetings between these two teams, Houston is 5-1 SU and ATS.

Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons (from +4.5 to +6.0 at BetOnline)

Off to a 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS start, Green Bay has steamrolled their competition, and bettors aren’t expecting that to stop this week. Atlanta will be hoping for revenge after last season’s 48-21 loss at home to Green Bay in the playoffs.

Other games that have seen some line movement include the Jets @ New England (from -8.0 to -9.0), Chicago @ Detroit (from -6.0 to -5.0), Philadelphia @ Buffalo (from +3.0 to +2.5), New Orleans @ Carolina (from +7.0 to +6.5), and Seattle @ NY Giants (from -10.0 to -9.5), all at BetOnline.
