NFL Odds: Week 16 Betting Trends

Nobody gave the Carolina Panthers much of a chance at the beginning of the season, but this week on Tobacco Road the big black cats are hosting the New Orleans Saints with first place in the NFC South at stake. Both teams are tied at 10-4 on the year, so the winner will have a one-game edge in the division.

Carolina, a 3-point favorite at Bovada, rolls into this game on a 7-2 ATS run in NFC South games, and has covered four of its last five at home against New Orleans. In addition, the Panthers are on a nine-game winning run at home, having won eight straight-up and going 7-1-1 against the books.

Meanwhile, the Saints are mired in a 2-8 spread slide on the road. The highly explosive Saints have stayed UNDER in six of their last seven divisional games.

In a key AFC clash, the Colts arrive in Kansas City having covered six of their last seven when visiting the Chiefs. Nevertheless, the Colts have failed to cover four of their last five as a road underdog. Conversely, the Chiefs are on a 2-10 ATS skid as home favorites. In this showdown, the teams have alternated wins and losses on the field over the past seven meetings, and Kansas City, a 7-point favorite, is due to win this one.

In the NFC West, Arizona visits Seattle (-10.5), and the Seahawks have covered five of their last seven against Arizona. Seattle has also covered 19 of its last 24 at home. On the other hand, and coupling with Seattle's success, the Cardinals are 1-8 SU and 3-6 ATS in their last nine games in NFC West play. Total lovers will be interested in knowing the UNDER is on a 7-3 run when Seattle is in on intradivision play.

Baltimore is still playing for its playoff life, after scoring an upset win on Monday in Detroit, and this week hosts New England, which is mired in a 1-7 ATS slide on the road. Nonetheless, the Patriots are also in on a 9-3 ATS run when installed as underdogs. Baltimore has stayed UNDER in seven of its last nine home games.
