NFL Opening Betting Lines: Week 10

Sportsbooks were taking their time posting an opening line on the Bears’ home game against the Detroit Lions for Week 10. Chicago QB Jay Cutler is reportedly planning to play against the Lions; Cutler suffered a groin injury two weeks ago and was expected to miss at least four weeks.

Bettors will want to keep an eye on his status throughout the week. If Cutler can’t go, Josh McCown will start. McCown played well against the Green Bay Packers in a 27-20 win on Monday, passing for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Early lines had Detroit as the favorite, but that will likely hinge on if Cutler does return.

Cutler is just one of several QB situations for bettors to track this week. Books also were hesitant to post a line on the Green Bay Packers’ home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers injured his collarbone early in that loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday. Rodgers is expected to miss at least a few weeks, leaving Seneca Wallace to quarterback an offense already banged up at wide receiver.

Buffalo rookie QB E.J. Manuel was expected to return to practice this week and could start Sunday at the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were 3.5-point favorites at 5Dimes as of Tuesday afternoon.
