NFL Opening Betting Lines: Week 9 Odds

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have already won outright as a home underdog once this season, and they'll likely get a chance to do it again this weekend according to the opening NFL betting lines for Week 9.

The Patriots opened as 4-point home underdogs for their game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon at 4:25pm ET, with New England topping Cincinnati 43-17 as a 2.5-point home underdog back on October 5. The Pats also beat the Broncos 34-31 as a 2-point home underdog when those teams met in November last season. Overall New England is 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games as a home underdog dating back to 2001.

In the primetime matchups for Week 9 the Carolina Panthers opened as 2.5-point home favorites against the New Orleans Saints for Thursday Night Football, with the Pittsburgh Steelers opening as 1.5-point home underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens for Sunday Night Football, and the New York Giants opening as 3-point home underdogs against the Indianapolis Colts for Monday Night Football.

And in the two huge spreads for Week 9, the Bengals opened as 13.5-point home favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars at the online sportsbooks, and the Seahawks opened as 15.5-point home favorites against the Oakland Raiders. Jacksonville and Oakland are a combined 1-14 SU, with the Jaguars 2-6 ATS and the Raiders 3-4 ATS on the season.

The New York Jets are 1-7 SU and 1-6-1 ATS on the season, and they opened as 7.5-point road underdogs at Kansas City for Week 9. The St. Louis Rams also opened as 7.5-point road underdogs at the sportsbooks as they prepare to take on the Niners in San Francisco late on Sunday afternoon.

The Houston Texans opened as 2.5-point home underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles, who dropped to 5-2 both SU and ATS on the season with a 24-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. The Cardinals are on the road this week for a game against the Dallas Cowboys, with Tony Romo and company opening as 4-point favorites for that contest.
