NFL Preseason Betting Lines for Week 2

The Cleveland Browns lost their first game of the preseason both SU and ATS last week, but the team that won just four times last year will remain in the NFL betting spotlight this week as Johnny Manziel attempts to win the starting QB job over Brian Hoyer.

Cleveland fell 13-12 on the road against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 NFL preseason betting action as a 2.5-point favorite on the odds, with Manziel going 7 for 11 for 63 yards passing and Hoyer completing 6 of his 14 pass attempts for 92 yards on the night. Neither threw for a touchdown; the Browns were held to four field goals.

The Browns will be back on the field to close out Week 2 of the NFL preseason betting slate on Monday, August 18 as they play on the road against Washington, who beat the New England Patriots 23-6 as a 2.5-point home favorite on the odds last week. Tom Brady didn't play for the Pats in that game, while Robert Griffin III completed two of four passes for nine yards.

Week 2 of the NFL preseason slate kicks off on Thursday night with Jacksonville at Chicago, while on Friday night it'll be Philadelphia at New England, Tennessee at New Orleans, San Diego at Seattle, and Detroit at Oakland. The Lions have now paid off ATS in 13 of their last 16 NFL preseason contests.

The Rams will host the Packers on Saturday afternoon this week, with the rest of that day's exhibition slate offering up the Giants at Indianapolis, the Jets at Cincinnati, Baltimore at Dallas, Buffalo at Pittsburgh, Miami at Tampa Bay, Atlanta at Houston, and Arizona at Minnesota.

On Sunday it's then Denver at San Francisco and Kansas City at Carolina, with the Chiefs getting past the Bengals 41-39 as a 2-point favorite on the NFL odds in their preseason opener last week. Kansas City had been 7-30-1 ATS in their last 38 preseason games heading into last week.
