NFL Odds Sunday Setup: News & Notes

Down to the last week of the NFL betting regular season, plenty of playoff spot and playoff seeding implications are still on the line.

The general theme among this week’s injuries seems to be that if a player is healthy enough to play, he’ll play, even with a playoff spot already secured. Here’s a look at some key injury updates . . .

Ben Roethlisberger and Troy Polamalu listed as probable

Pittsburgh will need to win and for the Baltimore Ravens to lose to Cincinnati to win the AFC North, and the Steelers seem set to do their part in winning this week at Cleveland. Both Ben Roethlisberger and Troy Polamalu will likely play at less than 100% as both are currently listed as probable.

Pittsburgh is a 6.5-point road favorite at TopBet.

Andre Johnson will play against Tennessee

The Houston Texans have nothing to play for Sunday as they have already clinched the third seed in the AFC and cannot win the No. 2 seed, but Andre Johnson will still play for at least a few plays Sunday. Coach Gary Kubiak has stated that he wants Johnson to get some work in this game to get back in game shape for the playoffs.

Even if he only plays for a quarter or half, Johnson could make an impact on the outcome of this game. Houston is a 2-point underdog at home at Bovada.

Tony Romo good to go against the Giants

The swelling from last week’s hand injury has been going down all week for Tony Romo, and owner Jerry Jones reports that Romo will be at full strength for Sunday’s game. Wide receiver Miles Austin reported the same, saying at practice that it felt like Romo’s throws were on par with the usual.

Dallas is a 3-point underdog in New York at 5Dimes.

Reggie Bush out for Miami

Reggie Bush will miss the Dolphins’ final game of the season against the New York Jets with a leg injury. Bush has been a big part of the Dolphins’ strong second half as Miami is 5-3 SU and 7-1 ATS in its last eight games. Miami’s players have expressed their desire to end New York’s playoff hopes with a win at home. The Dolphins are a 3-point favorite at BetOnline.
