NFL Week 13 Expert Betting Odds Picks

It was terribly frustrating for those like myself who had the OVER when Jacksonville played Tennessee two weeks ago. The Jaguars won, 19-13, and the game went UNDER 41.5 points.

The rematch is Sunday with the total at 43 points. It's hard to believe the team's two coaches, Gus Bradley and Mike Mularkey, could be so ultra-conservative again. I thought OVER was the right play then based on the promise of quarterbacks Blake Bortles and Marcus Mariota and I think it's the right play again.

Hopefully Bradley won't choose to give backup running back Denard Robinson three straight unsuccessful goal line carries and then kick a field goal like he did in the earlier game, which caused vast vomiting on my part. Jacksonville is averaging 24.8 points per game during its last seven games. The Jaguars defense remains weak surrendering a fourth-worst 27.2 points a game.

Mariota should be more dangerous given the green light to run by Mularkey. He should fare well at home against such a lightweight defense.

Give the Touchdown and Take the Bears

San Francisco is at Chicago. The Bears are coming on and getting healthier offensively. The 49ers have lost four of their five road contests by two touchdowns or more. So I'm laying seven with the Bears.

Chicago is 5-3 in its last eight games. The Bears' losses during this span have been to the Lions by three in overtime, by a field goal to the Vikings and by two points to Denver when a late two-point conversion that would have tied the game failed.

Blaine Gabbert can't match points with a rejuvenated Jay Cutler, who has far better weapons.

Vikings the Pick Against the Seahawks

Minnesota has covered nine of its last 10 games. I'll ride the Vikings at home in a pick'em spread against Seattle.

The Seahawks aren't close to what they've been the past two seasons when they reached the Super Bowl. Their mediocre 6-5 record is propped up by two victories against San Francisco, a one-point win against the Matt Cassel-led Cowboys and being the beneficiary of a wrong official's call to get past Detroit at home.

The Seahawks nearly lost to Pittsburgh at home this past week despite being plus four in turnovers.
