NFL Week 13 Props Preview

Tom Brady gets the full NFL props treatment this week when he leads the New England Patriots into a Monday Night showdown against their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets.

At Bovada the oddsmakers have unleashed the usual Brady props, hitting on passing yards, passing percentage, and interceptions. Bettors have a ton of Brady history versus the Jets to pour over to try and pick out some winners, including a Week 2 matchup from earlier in the season.

At Bovada this week Brady's passing yards total was set at 265.5, with both the OVER and the UNDER at -115. On the season Brady has averaged 245.7 passing yards per game, but it isn't quite that simple. Last week he went off for 341 yards against the Lions, but a week earlier against the Colts he only put 186 yards on the board. That's a pretty big swing in two weeks.

Back in Week 2 Brady unloaded 248 yards on the Jets, which is well above the 212.5 yards he's averaged in 17 career games against New York. Judging by those two numbers alone the UNDER looks like the safer bet for Monday night.

For Brady's pass percentage this week Bovada came up with a total of 62.5%, and the OVER and UNDER are both listed at -115. Brady has completed 66.3% of his passes so far this season with his lowest percentage of the season coming in Week 9 when he completed just 52.8% of his passes against Cleveland.

When he faced the Jets in Week 2 he completed 20-of-36 passes, or 55.6%, and his lifetime passing percentage versus New York is 62.3%. Even though Brady would have gone UNDER the total back in Week 2 we'll take the OVER this week since Tom Terrific has been better than 69% in his last three games.

Finally, there's interceptions. So far this season Brady has thrown only four interceptions in 11 games, which is why at Bovada his interceptions total was set a a very low 0.5. The OVER is a big favorite at -150, while the UNDER in listed at +120. In Week 2 versus the Jets Brady was picked off twice, but in his previous six games versus New York he had only thrown three interceptions and this season the Jets are near the bottom of the league with only seven interceptions. The UNDER might be worth a couple dollars here because it has such great value.
