NFL Week 14 Power Rankings

Despite last week's huge upset loss to the Raiders, the Chargers retain the top spot in the math-based NFL Power Rankings with a miniscule lead over Philadelphia.
Some feel the Patriots and Jets should be much higher, but let's face it - the Pats can't stop the pass and the Jets haven't beaten any good teams.

Both the Chargers and Eagles are in tough this week with matchups against the Chiefs and Cowboys, which could give the No. 3 team, the Giants, a chance to leap over both of them if they can get it done versus Minnesota.

1. San Diego (1) – After tanking against the Raiders last week the Chargers are in a must-win situation this week versus Kansas City to keep their playoff hopes alive.

2. Philadelphia (2) – The Eagles have gone OVER the total in seven of their last eight games and they face a Dallas squad this week that has posted nine straight OVER results.

3, NY Giants (3) – Keep an eye on Brandon Jacobs after he rumbled for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries last week.

4. Pittsburgh (6) – The Steelers' defense has given up only 29 points in their last three games, which all went UNDER the posted total.

5. New Orleans (7) – The Saints may have won their last five games, but they lost their last two ATS.

6. Atlanta (5) – The Falcons won their sixth in a row last week and covered the spread to improve to 5-1 ATS during their streak and 8-4 ATS on the season.

7. Green Bay (8) –  The Packers got back on the winning track last week and Greg Jennings is on fire with 18 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns in his last three games.

8. NY Jets (4) – The Jets' Monday night loss to New England snapped their five-game road winning streak.

9. Baltimore (9) – After last week's loss to Pittsburgh the Ravens have dropped two in a row ATS and have only covered twice in their last six games.

10. Kansas City (11) – After beating Denver last week the Chiefs remain undefeated at home this season at 6-0. They head to San Diego this week looking to improve on their 2-4 road record.

11. Miami (10) –  Heading to Jersey to face the Jets this weekend the Dolphins are 5-1 SU and ATS on the road this season and also own a 5-1 UNDER record.

12. Minnesota (14) – This could finally be the end of the road for Brett Favre after he got annihilated last week. Worth noting though - the Vikes are 2-0 under Leslie Frazier.

13. Chicago (12) –  The Bears are still on top of the NFC North after winning their fifth straight last week. A tough battle against New England this week will test them.

14.Tampa Bay (13) – After losing back-to-back to Baltimore and Atlanta the Bucs still have not beaten a team over .500 this season.

15. Oakland (16) –  The Raiders need to play San Diego more often. They beat them as a 7-point underdog and a 13-point underdog this season.

16. New England (20) – After crushing the Jets on Monday Night Football the Patriots posted their sixth straight OVER result.

17. St. Louis (19) – After reeling off two straight wins the Rams remain playoff contenders in the horrid NFC West.

18. Indianapolis (15) – After losing three straight the Colts are 6-6 and in danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2001.

19. Houston (18) – The Texans have only one win in their last six games, and even worse for bettors they've covered only twice in their last eight.

20. Detroit (22) – If you bet totals you should know that the Lions are 8-1 OVER in their last nine games.

21. Dallas (23) –  Since the Wade Phillips firing the Cowboys are 4-0 ATS.

22.Cincinnati (21) –  The Bungles have now lost nine in a row while going 2-7 ATS.

23. Cleveland (24) –  After upsetting the Dolphins, the Browns snapped their three-game ATS losing streak. They also snapped their six-game OVER streak.

24. San Francisco (17) – The 49ers hand the starting QB job back to Alex Smith this week when they host the Seahawks.

25. Jacksonville (27) –  The Jaguars could steal the AFC South and are paying off bettors after winning five straight ATS.

26. Denver (26) – The Broncos have only one win in their last eight games and they're also a pitiful 2-6 ATS.

27. Tennessee (25) – Make it five straight losses both SU and ATS for the stumbling Titans.

28. Buffalo (28) – Last week the Bills suffered their first loss ATS since Week 5.

29. Washington (29) – With only one win in their last five games the Donovan McNabb extension is looking worse and worse.

30. Seattle (31) – The Seahawks have posted five straight OVER results thanks to a poor defense and an inconsistent offense.

31. Carolina (30) – Despite owning the league's worst offense the Panthers have somehow gone OVER the total in four straight games.

32. Arizona (32) –  Does it really matter who the quarterback is? The Cardinals are 0-7 SU and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games.

Power rankings are calculated using an algorithm that includes a combination of offensive stats, defensive stats, and strength of schedule. By the numbers . . .
