NFL Week 16 Prop Bets

Tim Tebow gets another start at QB for the Broncos, and NFL prop bettors get another shot at making some cash on the one player everyone seems to either love or love to hate.

Tebow made his first-ever NFL start last week in Denver's 29-23 loss to Oakland. He completed 8 of 16 passes for 138 yards with one touchdown strike. Tebow's biggest strength is his rushing ability and he displayed that last week as well with 78 rushing yards and a TD on eight carries.

This week at Bovada the oddsmakers have come up with props on Tebow's passing yards, rushing yards, pass percentage, and combined passing and rushing touchdowns.

On Tebow's passing yards prop the total was set at 200.5 yards this week. Tebow didn't even come close to that last week, but expect his passing yards to go up this weekend against Houston and their league-worst pass defense. Will it go up at least 63 yards to top 200 yards though? We think not, so take the UNDER.

On the rushing yards prop the total was set pretty low at 25.5 yards. Last week Tebow easily surpassed that with his 78 yards rushing, but he picked up 40 of those yards on one run. Despite that you know Tebow's going to be taking off whenever he gets the chance and he could hit 20-plus yards on one big run, so take the OVER.

Finishing off the Tebow props are pass percentage and total touchdowns. Tebow's pass percentage total was set at 54%. He may have only completed 50% last week, but again, he's facing a terrible Houston pass defense and should get OVER 54% this weekend. The total touchdowns prop was given a total of 1.5 with the OVER favored at -135. It would be shocking if Tebow didn't score at least two touchdowns against an awful Houston defense, so take the OVER again here.

Also showing up on the early props list at Bovada this week was Washington QB Rex Grossman. With Donovan McNabb benched again this week Grossman gets his second straight start for the Redskins against Jacksonville.

Last week against Dallas Grossman was shockingly pretty good and completed 25 of 43 passes for 322 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Right now at Bovada the only prop available to bettors on Grossman is passing yards.

The oddsmakers have come up with a passing yards total of 225.5 yards. Last week Grossman may have crushed that total with 322 yards, but in his career he's only averaged 164.1 passing yards per game. Grossman is facing a Jaguars team that has a pretty bad pass defense this season, giving up an average of 255.6 yards per game, but we'll still take the UNDER because we don't trust Grossman enough to deliver two good performances in a row.
