NFL Week 17 Odds Shark Computer Picks - 2017

The NFL season may be wrapping up, but the OddsShark Super Computer isn't taking any days off. While there are only a handful of games that have direct playoff consequences, the Computer has prognosticated who's going to win and cover the spread this weekend.

The biggest game on the slate features the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions with the rights for the NFC North banner on the line. The Computer is picking the green and gold to win outright by a score of 24-22, but the Lions to cover the +3.5 spread. The Packers have been red-hot both on the field and at the betting window lately, although covering as road chalk could be a tall order for Aaron Rodgers and company against a very good Lions team.

Just how tall of an order is it going to be for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to make the playoffs? The Bucs must beat the Carolina Panthers, while they also need the Packers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks to lose. On top of all of that, Tampa also needs the Washington Redskins and New York Giants to tie.

The good news for Buccaneers fans is the Computer is picking Jameis Winston and company to easily dispatch Carolina 30.2-16.4. Considering the Panthers' fall from grace after appearing in the Super Bowl last year, they'll likely be just going through the motions in Week 17 which makes the Bucs spread look pretty tasty.

Home Cooking

The Computer is banking on NFL teams sending fans home happy this week, as it's picked 12 of the 16 home squads to cover the spread. While there may not be much to play for, beleaguered and road-weary clubs likely won't have much motivation after travelling for yet another away game.

OVERs Galore

UNDERs have been the preferred method of the Computer for most of the year, but it's predicting 11 games to go OVER the total in the regular season finale. The OVER was a scorching bet in Week 16, as 13 tilts went OVER the closing total. Whether it's a case of offensive players chasing individual records or defenses mailing it in early, the OVER always seems to pay out at a rapid rate in the closing weeks of the NFL campaign year in and year out.
