NFL Week 17 Opening Lines

After a long season of NFL betting, for two teams, a trip to the playoffs or the end of the season comes down to one game. The division rivalry game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants tops an exciting list of NFL opening lines.

The New York Giants have opened as a 2.5-point favorite at home against Dallas at 5Dimes. Tony Romo has a bruised throwing hand due to an injury he sustained in Dallas’ loss to Philadelphia last week, but he will play. The Giants are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five meetings against the Cowboys including a 37-34 win in their last meeting.

Three teams opened as double-digit favorites this week at TopBet as the New England Patriots are -11.5 at home against Buffalo,  Atlanta is -12.5 at home against Tampa Bay, and San Francisco is -10.5 on the road at St. Louis.

Totals trended UNDER for the first time in four weeks at 9-7 last week. The highest total on the board this week is 55 in the Carolina at New Orleans game at 5Dimes.

Underdogs held the slight edge in Week 16 with a 9-7 ATS record for the second straight week while home teams took care of business with an 11-5 straight up record.

Key matchups with Week 17 Odds courtesy of BetOnline:

Ravens -2.5 at Cincinnati – With a win, Baltimore can clinch the AFC North and a first-round bye; the Bengals can clinch a playoff spot with a win. Cincinnati is 6-4 SU and 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games against Baltimore.

Panthers +9.0 at New Orleans – If New Orleans wins and San Francisco loses to St. Louis, the Saints would earn the NFC’s No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. New Orleans is 7-0 SU and ATS in its last seven games and 7-0 SU and ATS at home this season.

Chiefs +3.0 at Denver – Denver can clinch the AFC West with a win this week; a loss opens the door for the Oakland Raiders. Denver is 0-2 SU and ATS and has given up 40+ points in its last two games after going 6-0 SU (5-0-1 ATS) in its previous six.

Chargers +3.0 at Oakland – With a Denver loss, Oakland can win the AFC West with a win over San Diego. Even if Denver wins, the Raiders could get in as a Wild Card if they win this week. Oakland is 5-0 ATS in its last five meetings against San Diego with three straight outright wins.
