SN: NFL Week 3 Betting Trends Analysis

Looking for the Indianapolis Colts to bounce back from an 0-2 start and cover as road chalk against Tennessee?

Trend-wise it makes sense. The Colts are 18-4 against the spread (ATS) following a loss. They also have won and covered during each of their last seven games against the Titans.

Reality-wise it doesn't make so much sense. The Colts are undermanned defensively with a cluster injury problem in their secondary, out of sync offensively and traveling on a short week having just played this past Monday night.

The Titans are home for the first time in 2015. They appear improved with potential franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Andrew Luck has thrown three touchdowns this season and been picked off five times. Indianapolis' offensive line has been as bad as advertised.

UNDER trend in Panthers vs Saints MATCHUP

Carolina has gone under in 10 of its last 11 NFC South Division games. The Panthers host New Orleans. The under has cashed 10 of the past 12 times the teams have played in Carolina.

The Saints-Panthers total currently is 45. That number will go down if Drew Brees can't play because of his sore shoulder. Even with Brees, the Saints are just 24th in scoring lacking their normal amount of offensive weapons.

Carolina is No. 2 in scoring defense giving up just 13 points a game and ranks fifth in total defense. The Panthers are a run-first team, which keeps the clock moving. They rate second-to-last in passing yards.

The key to making this under work not only is Brees' condition, but improvement from the Saints defense. New Orleans gave up 31 points to Arizona Sportsbook week and 26 points to Tampa Bay at home last Sunday.

The Panthers scored 10 points at home against New Orleans last year and 17 at home versus the Saints two seasons ago.

RAVENS FACING BENGALS IN CLOSE TO MUST-WIN

Baltimore currently is -2.5 hosting Cincinnati. The Ravens have won 15 of their past 16 home games in September. They also have defeated the Bengals four of the past five times at M&T Bank Stadium.

At 0-2 on the season the Ravens already are faced with close to a must-win situation.
