The Dallas Cowboys didn't waste much time on tears and pity after Tony Romo went down with a broken collarbone. The Cowboys went to the junk yard trading for Matt Cassel.
In the meantime - which means this home game against Atlanta - the Cowboys are forced to go with Brandon Weeden at quarterback. The combination of Romo's absence and Dez Bryant being out due to a broken foot renders Dallas' offense utterly impotent unless you envision Weeden and Cole Beasley-types lighting up the scoreboard. I don't.
The Cowboys' defense isn't nearly strong enough to carry a weak offense especially without their best cornerback, injured Orlando Scandrick, and two top pass rushers, suspended Greg Hardy and injured Randy Gregory.
Atlanta is up-and-coming under Dan Quinn. The Falcons are 2-0 with dynamic skill position players and an improving defense. Matt Ryan versus Weeden is a mismatch of drastic proportions, worthy of laying a short road price.
Bills, Dolphins Set for UNDER Result
Buffalo and Miami haven't gone over the total during any of their last six matchups. I expect this one to stay under 43 points, too.
Both teams are more about defense. It's Tyrod Taylor's first road start. The Dolphins have a good secondary, excellent edge pass rushers and their run defense should improve as Ndamukong Suh makes his considerable presence felt.
Miami isn't dynamic at the skill positions. Lamar Miller is banged up and has gained fewer than five yards on 17 of his 23 carries. Left tackle Branden Albert is dealing with a hamstring injury. His mid-week playing status was doubtful.
Colts Ready to Explode on Offense
If you're able to play team totals then Indianapolis over 24 points is worth a strong look. The Colts' offense has been sluggish. But much of that has to do with Sportsbook against upper tier defenses the Bills and Jets.
Now the Colts step way down in class. Last year, the Colts were projected to score 27.5 and 26.5 points, respectively, in their two games versus the Titans. The Colts scored 41 and 27 points against Tennessee in 2014.
Andrew Luck has more weapons this season and the Colts' team total is lower than it was last season against the Titans.
