NFL Week 3 Odds Shark Computer Picks - 2016 Season
The Battle of Pennsylvania will reignite this week as the Steelers make the trip across the state to face the Eagles on Sunday afternoon and if you like Pittsburgh in this one, the computer says no. Though Philly opened as a 3.5-point underdog, the OddsShark Super Computer is taking the Eagles to cover and to outright beat the Steelers by more than six points.
These teams have split their four matchups since the turn of the millennium but like all cross-conference rivals (who haven’t met in the Super Bowl), they have not played in four seasons. Both teams won and covered in their first two respective games this season. The Steelers have had arguably the tougher body of work so far but have gone just 1-6 SU in their last seven games after consecutive wins – maybe there is something to this.
All Aboard the Favorite Train
If you’re a fan of juice, then you will not be a fan of the computer’s picks this week as it likes favorites to cover in 12 of the 16 games on the slate in Week 3. The underdogs the computer has picked to cover are the Falcons over the Saints, the Eagles over the Steelers, the Broncos over the Bengals and the Bills over the Cardinals.
This prediction goes a little against the grain so far, as the underdog vs favorites record through the first two weeks is 17-12-3 in favor of the dogs.
Smash of the Titans
The Raiders have given up the most yards in the NFL this year and the computer believes that the Titans take advantage of that Sunday and has predicted Tennessee to beat Oakland 31.3-13.6. This 17.7-point margin of victory is the largest spread predicted by the computer this week with the Dolphins’ 15.4-point projected margin of victory coming in a close second.
The Raiders are 2-8 SU and 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 road games against the Titans but the Titans are 0-11 SU after their last 11 ATS wins, so pick your poison here.
Have you had enough?
There are eight teams left that have yet to get a win this season and the computer is projecting that only three – the Colts, the Saints and the Dolphins – earn their first win this week. Of the other sad-sack teams, the computer likes just one of them – the Bills – to cover while remaining winless.
