NFL Week 6 Prop Bets Roundup

Sebastian Janikowski and Jared Allen are both off to excellent starts at their respective positions, and betting on whether or not their success will continue are just a few of this week’s most interesting prop bets.

Here’s a look at those two props, as well as a few other good ones over at Bovada.

Sebastian Janikowski is king from 50+ yards

Since 2001, no kicker has made more field goals of 50+ yards than Sebastian Janikowski. With three last Sunday, Janikowski brought his season total to six. Bovada has set the Over-Under for his season total from 50+ at 8.5, with both the “Over” and “Under” available at -115 each. He only needs three more, and has 11 games to get them; considering the Raiders clearly believe in him from long range, there may be some value in the “Over” here.

Jared Allen leads the NFL in sacks

At just 1-4, Minnesota has had its share of problems this season; but defensive end Jared Allen hasn’t been one of them. With 8.5 sacks through five games, Allen is on pace for 27 sacks this season. Bovada has the Over-Under for his season total set at 18.5, with the “Over” and “Under” both available at -115. Allen’s current career high is 15.5, set back in 2007 with Kansas City.

Tim Tebow era begins

After a terrible first half, Denver quarterback Kyle Orton was replaced by Tim Tebow in the second half. John Fox officially announced Tebow as his new starter Monday. Bovada has set the total number of games Tebow starts this year at 7.5, with both the “Over” and “Under” available at -120. With 11 games left to go, Tebow just has to avoid injury or demotion.

Philadelphia Eagles keep struggling

Last week’s loss to Buffalo saw the Eagles fall to 1-4 SU on the season. The new total for season wins at Bovada is 7.5, with the “Over” available at +115 and the “Under” at -145. Philadelphia would have to finish 7-4 to salvage an eight-win season. You can also bet on whether or not Philadelphia will make the playoffs; “Yes” at +275, “No” at -350.
