NFL Week 8 Betting Primer

In last week’s Betting Primer I discussed how, up until that point, it had been the year of the dog, and that the favorites would soon have their day, and did they ever! Favorites ended up going 9-3-2 ATS in Week 7, so hopefully you faded the dogs and lined your pockets.

Let’s continue our goal of destroying the bookie’s life by zeroing in on one of my favorite stats — net yards per play. Over a span of their last three games, the best net yards per play teams are the Jaguars, Seahawks, Vikings, Steelers, Eagles and Saints. This is a great betting stat, because what all these teams have in common is a winning ATS record over that span. They combined to be a very profitable 15-3 ATS, so keep an eye on these teams this week and don’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

    49ers at Eagles
    • The 49ers are 3-1 ATS on the road this season, having lost all four straight up by an average of 2.75 points per game.

    • The Eagles are allowing a league-low 67 rushing yards per game. At home, they’re allowing just 51.7 rushing yards per game.
