Nover: The Rams Need to Just Start Over

"What a horrible display by the Rams" is becoming a common headline. Fake toughness, lack of any semblance of a passing attack and Todd Gurley can only take a team so far.

St. Louis has lost its last four games, going 0-3-1 against the spread. They are six-point home underdogs to Arizona on Sunday.

I give St. Louis the lowest home field advantage along with San Diego and Jacksonville. Crowd support is down in St. Louis not only because of the Rams' 4-7 record - on their way to a 12th consecutive non-winning season -  but also the strong possibility the team could be relocating.

The Rams are a difficult team to root for given their dirty play and last-ranked passing statistics. Jeff Fisher showed his lack of class hiring Gregg Williams of Bountygate notoriety to be his defensive coordinator. Williams has a history of coaching cheap shot, dirty tactics football.

Foles Not Getting Job Done For Rams

It's nearly impossible to win in today's NFL without decent quarterback play. Nick Foles has been so bad with the Rams that it actually was a disappointment when backup Case Keenum, horrendous in his own right, couldn't get concussion clearance to start against the Cardinals.

Foles was outstanding for Chip Kelly in Philadelphia last season. This year he has the second-lowest quarterback rating in the NFL with a completion rate of 57.9 percent and a seven-to-nine touchdown-to-interception ratio. Maybe Foles was just a system guy, or maybe Fisher ruined him.

Rams quarterbacks certainly aren't helped playing behind the worst offensive line in the league, a depleted unit forced to play multiple players out of position.

Gurley Struggling in Last Three Games

Showing no respect for the Rams' feeble passing attack, defenses are keying on Gurley. He's rushed for only 130 yards in his last three games averaging 2.8 yards per carry during this time frame. St. Louis has scored 13 or fewer points in each of its last three games.

The Rams defense has broken under the strain of carrying such a weak offense recording only four sacks during the last four games.

The Rams should move - without Fisher. Begin over. Get rid of the stench. Gurley is a great starting piece.
