Sometimes the bad teams are just as entertaining as the good ones in the NFL. So, while some people bet on Super Bowl odds or big awards like the NFL MVP, let’s dive into the other side of the spectrum.
Oddsmakers at Sportsbook have provided us with odds for the worst NFL teams to go winless this football season (that would mean losing all 17 regular-season games). Below, we break down if there’s some value in that market and then what teams have the best shot at being an 0-17 NFL squad.

Odds as of August 23 at Sportsbook
Only five teams have ever gone winless in NFL history, and only two have done so in the modern (16-plus games) regular-season era — the 2008 Detroit Lions (0-16) and the 2017 Cleveland Browns (0-16). Now, with an additional regular-season game, going winless is even harder.
Leading the charge in this year’s NFL odds to go winless, the Houston Texans have an implied chance of 5.88 percent to go 0-17 this NFL season.

Which NFL Teams Could Go Winless?
Houston Texans
The Texans had a decent offseason, adding Derek Stingley Jr. and some other young talent in the draft before filling out some depth on the roster in free agency. However, Houston still isn’t really in compete mode right now. Davis Mills still has plenty of question marks at QB, there aren’t really any playmakers on offense, and the defense doesn’t scare opposing teams much either.
There’s enough competence in Houston that the Texans shouldn’t go winless, but with a few injuries and some bad losses, who knows.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks weren’t very good last year. They won seven games, had suspect defensive play all year, and couldn’t stay healthy or push for a postseason spot.
So, after losing Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, D.J. Reed, Gerald Everett and others in the offseason, it’s fair to expect the Seahawks to be one of the worst teams in football. The one reason it’s hard to expect the Seahawks to lose all 17 games is due to the options at quarterback. If Drew Lock is bad enough to lead them to a winless record, eventually Geno Smith should step in and snag at least one win.

Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons lost a lot of reliable talent this offseason, trading Matt Ryan while losing Russell Gage and Hayden Hurst and others to free agency. They signed a few players and extended some offensive playmakers, but with Marcus Mariota at QB and a young Desmond Ridder learning behind him, the absence of Matty Ice makes Atlanta one of the tanking teams this year, for sure.
The Falcons also have the 10th-hardest schedule in football this year, per Sharp Football, providing all the more reason to hammer their odds to go 0-17.
