Opening Lines: Lions favored vs. Falcons

With the Detroit Lions picking up their first loss of the season last week, the Green Bay Packers stand alone as the NFL’s last remaining undefeated team. The Packers head to Minnesota this week, while the Detroit Lions will try to bounce back at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

TopBet currently lists the Lions as a 3.5-point favorite over the Falcons. Detroit’s loss to San Francisco last week was the first time they’d lost ATS in 10 games, as they are now 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11. Atlanta is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.

Two teams opened as double-digit favorites against winless opponents at home as the Dallas Cowboys are a 13-point favorite over St. Louis and New Orleans is a 14-point favorite at home against Indianapolis, both at BetOnline.

The season-long roller coaster in totals betting continued last week as the UNDER went 10-3 after going just 3-10 the week before. This week, no totals are set over 50, with the highest total currently set at 48 at 5Dimes in the Indianapolis at New Orleans game.

Favorites took care of business in Week 6, going 8-5 ATS, while home teams cruised to an 11-2 SU record.

Key matchups with Week 7 Odds courtesy of Bovada:

Redskins +3 at Carolina – Carolina is just 1-5 SU, but has been strong ATS at 4-2. They’ll try and pick up their second win of the season against the 3-2 SU and ATS Redskins.

Bears -1 vs.Tampa Bay – Both coming off big wins last week, Tampa Bay and Chicago will each try and build on that momentum in a matchup at London's Wembley Stadium. Chicago is just 1-4 ATS in their last five games.

Chiefs +3 at Oakland – Oakland will try and overcome an injury to quarterback Jason Campbell and stay hot in this division rivalry game. The Raiders are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games.

Packers -9 at Minnesota – Green Bay is 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS this season, and Minnesota doesn’t look like the team that can slow them down. Not only are the Vikings 1-5 SU and 2-3-1 ATS, but they are also just 3-7 SU and ATS in their last 10 games against the Packers.
